Chapter Twenty-three

Jo's house is located in the richer neighborhood. I've been friends with her for two weeks now and I didn't know she drove a convertible. I told her that I had to go home and get my stuff for the sleepover but she waved her hand and said,

“What's the fun in that?”

I am officially the poorest person among my friends and I don't even have a car, only a large house my parents left for me and Alee. I never really thought I needed a car until I saw Jo and everyone's. The others were following her and I pretended like I see mansions everyday on my way to school or anywhere in particular. When she stopped at her house to put in her password, I stared at the gate, mentally preparing for something that would blow my mind.
