Anna’s POV

“We were supposed to be a family. Live together, face problems together. I didn’t go with them and I couldn’t see my younger sister again. Her body was burnt and I could not even recognize her if not for her body shape. Yes, it was as bad as that!” Smith exclaimed.

“You said ‘live together, face problems together’. I am glad you didn’t say die together. You did nothing wrong. If you feel you did not convince them well enough, it is all shades of wrong. If you also feel that you should have died with them, it is ridiculous as well. First, your lineage would be ruined. Secondly, your family’s fortune would probably play into the hands of a man that knows nothing about how much your father laboured. Thirdly, I would never meet you if you had died. Think about all these and have a change of heart!” I told him firmly.

“I used to blame myself…” Smith replied. “I got over it when I met with a therapist. It took three months to work on me and eventually, I came out of depression. L
