Titan looked up as the door opened. He watched his sister walk in, before looking down on his files again. "You should be asleep," he said. "So should you," she responded. Titan shrugged, his eyes fixed on the paperwork. "I've got stuff to do," Maya rolled her eyes. "Like what? Please Titan we both know they are not important enough to keep you awake all night." Titan did not respond. He simply kept typing away on his laptop. Maya sat on the couch and narrowed her eyes at him. "Tell me something, are you avoiding her?" "Avoiding who?" he asked without looking up. "Olivia of course, I know you asked, no, ordered that she should be moved to your bedroom." "I had my justifications and at the top is the fact that I don't trust her to stay on her own and not run away." Maya leaned back. "Is that really why you asked her to vacate her chambers? Or is there more?" He raised his head to glare at his sister but Maya stared right back at him. Titan looked away and back at his laptop.
Dinner the following night was a quiet affair. Yet the shadow of the brutal killing that had occurred at night stalked the atmosphere, making it difficult for anyone to talk or concentrate on anything else. It sat there like the Elephant in the room whom everybody tiptoed around. Olivia moved her fork around her plate of rice and curry sauce to make it seem as though she was eating when she was not. It was impossible to eat with the imagery in her head. Each time she took a forkful, all she could hear or see was the man being kicked and stabbed to death. How he pleaded for his life and was still brazenly, cold-bloodedly murdered by the man sitting across from her. She could feel his eyes boring holes into her, but whenever she looked up, he averted his eyes away from hers. Too guilty to even hold her gaze it would seem. She knew that Titan did not in any way regret his murders. He just might regret though, that he had an unnecessary audience. Maya finished eating first and bade
The murmurings and mutters increased in intensity. Suspicious eyes seized her up unmercifully. Others were disbelieving and others simply averted their eyes. Olivia looked at Maya who was still processing the abrupt turn of events."What makes you think I am the spy?" She challenged the guard. "You think I have nothing better to do than become a traitor?""It's not me who has the proof but my brother. He saw you last night, eavesdropping right at the door of the Alpha's private library. Or are you going to deny that too? Luna?"An echo of disbelief rippled through the crowd. Olivia did not miss the undertone of mockery when he called her by her title. "No doubt you were looking for some critical intel to divulge to your people or whoever it is that employed you,"Olivia was about to speak when Maya intervened. "Those are serious allegations not backed up with a shred of proof. You better be cautious about the things you say. Have you forgotten who you are speaking to?""He knows exac
Olivia panicked and started breathing heavily. Titan was dragging a man like a sack to his death and it was going to be because of her. The crowd dispersed quickly, suddenly eager to get back to their usual duties. If Olivia was the spy, but the repercussion of pronouncing her guilty was death by Titan's hand, then she could remain a spy for all they cared.Even the actual guard who saw her yesterday, who had stood boldly with his brother to accuse her, had fled in the face of death. Olivia caught his eye, before running after Titan."Stop! Wait, Titan!" She yelled after him.If Titan heard her or had seen her, he gave no clue. His whole psyche was ensconced in a murderous rage. And when that happened, h
"Let me go!" Titan smiled. "You never truly want me to let you go," He held onto her tightly and then tossed her over his shoulders while she fought and thrashed around. He took her to his bedroom and dumped her on the bed there. Olivia stood up the minute he threw her on the bed, but he pushed her back down, and just as she was about to protest, he kissed her. Despite her protests, Olivia could feel her body succumbing to his touch as always. The blood spots on his hand which prove that he just sent a man tumbling to the next world terrified her. But she had absolute conviction that no matter how lethal he was, he would never hurt her. He might be an extremist, but she would always be safe from his extremism. Always. She kissed him back and soon he was ripping off her dress and running his hands down her naked body. Olivia held his broad strong back tighter as he fastened his tongue around her nipple. She moaned, grabbing the sheets tighter as he suckled on her left nipple. His
The Alpha requests your presence As though it was actually a request. It was a full-blown command and she did not have the audacity to refuse even though she was not particularly in the mood to see or talk to Titan Black unless he was going to apologize. Hope surged within her. Maybe that was why he had called her? To apologize? Three weeks ago, this would have been farfetched. But Titan had been soft and gentle for some time. Almost romantic. Apologies were now a possibility. She finally got to the door of the office and knocked. Titan looked up. "Yes, come in please," he said briskly. Olivia walked in. Titan regarded her for a moment before speaking. He had not seen her in the last two days and now she looked indifferent and distant. Well, two could play that game. "You sent for me?" Olivia asked curtly, breaking through the silence. Titan leaned forward. "Yes, I did," "Okay?" "I need you to pack up your things because you and I are taking a trip." He said and turned to hi
The meeting seemed to be going on forever. As King, Titan Black had been in countless meetings. He even liked them. They were strategic, efficient, and productive. But today, this particular meeting felt like a bore. The other Alphas seemed fine, moaning and complaining about the problems in their pack. From conflict to a lack of communication and collaboration, to avoiding human territories… Titan hardly ever dealt with anything by complaining first. He was a hands-on problem solver and solution provider. When something happened, the last thing on his mind was gathering other kings to complain. It showed a total lack of discipline and weakness. As a ruler, Titan believed it was best to only trust your instincts. The dream of every king was to attain and retain more power and influence. In the paranormal world, one easy way to do that was to have grand expansionist ambitions. And it is easy to expand once you know the territorial secrets of another pack. Sometimes just pack secr
Titan woke up with streaks of sunlight on his face. The first thing he did was reach for Olivia and it angered him how much he was getting attached to her. He sat up and noticed she wasn't there. He touched her side of the bed hoping to feel her warmth but it was not there, which meant she had woken up for a while. He washed his face, shaved, and took a shower before heading downstairs. Even before he reached the kitchen, he heard laughter reverberate through the house. Olivia. He caught her scent. It wasn't the first time he heard her laugh, even though she hadn't actually laughed at his words or actions, he had heard her laugh when she and Ryan spoke or when Asher teased her. But there was something about this one that made a small smile creep on his lips. He schooled his face into a blank mask. The sound came from the kitchen along with the delicious smell of confectioneries. They made his stomach groan. He stood watching the camaraderie between Celine and Olivia for a minute
