Chapter Sixty Four

Other creatures had settled there too and she thought she saw fish in the water, the chlorinated water in it must have evaporated in the long hot summer they had last year and been replaced by rainwater. Moving on silent pads she leaped up the stairs heading for the Penthouse, it was surprisingly untouched, she shifted back into her human form and pulled on the bathrobe hanging in the bathroom. She searched the room and found the mini-bar untouched and to her delight an unopened bottle of champagne. The electricity was still running so the fridge had remained cold and she opened it quickly grinning as some of it sprayed over her, she drank greedily from the bottle. It was cool, crisp, and delicious and she giggled when she hiccuped and the bubbles went up her nose. Perching on the bed she leaned against the headboard and finished the bottle of course it went straight to her head. She wasn’t a drinker, she had an empty stomach and her metabolism was much quicker now she was a lioness.
