Chapter Thirty Two

We traveled back to Cheshire in virtual silence, Jack was horrified at the PM’s betrayal and I was angry, very angry, I had put my life on the line willingly for my country and would do so again.

‘We need to get rid of him’

Jack said finally,

‘He cannot be allowed to ruin all the good work we have done’

‘He is the PM Jack we are sworn to protect him’

I said quietly and the normally affable young man exploded in anger,

‘Yes we are sworn to protect him unless he commits treason and selling you is treason.’

He slammed his fist on the steering wheel,

‘He won’t get you Sirius’

I looked at Jack and realized he was crying,

‘Hey, hey Jack what’s this all about?’

Jack pulled over and put his head in his hands,

‘I knew, Sirius. I fucking voted for this guy even though I knew he wouldn’t keep his promises. This is all my fault.’
