A night that started off as something simple and perfect took an unexpected turn when we both got drunk.

I stared at Megan, outlining the features of her body and I knew she grew uncomfortable under my gaze but I didn’t stop. With a small smile playing on my lips, I commented, “you are one of the prettiest women I know Megan and believe me when I say I know many women.”

Megan laughed. “Stop your faltering, Charles. I think you had a little too much to drink.”

I chuckled. My tolerance level for alcohol was pretty high since I was once a chronic alcoholic. It was a dark time in my life but I learned quite a lot from it. The truly drunk person between us was Megan. Her eyes could barely stay open, and she kept giggling at everything I said.
