While I sat quietly in my room, Becky lay next to me on the bed, gazing at me, which made me extremely uncomfortable.

"Don't you have anything to do?" I inquired, shaking my head and distancing myself from her.

"I don't. The King has relieved me of most of my duties so I can be with you. Isn't that wonderful?" she chuckled, and I sighed heavily, getting out of bed.

I couldn't stop pondering how to get rid of her, but I needed to ensure that any action I took wouldn't harm Cassie.

"Becky, I've told you countless times that this won't work. I will never develop feelings for you," I muttered, and she shrugged.

"It doesn't have to happen right away. I'm still content with people calling me your fiancée. It feels great," she uttered with a grin.

"You're completely delusional," I retorted in disgust, reaching for my bag to see if I had any cigarettes left. While I searched, she leaned against the wall, folding her arms and observing me.
