December 2001

It was December, we were waiting for Santa's presents, and the world was moving on.

We were ready for Christmas Mass and Grandpa's commemoration, so I was close to Grandma who was sitting in the first seats of the Episcopal church we attended. Many people came to greet her, as well as my father and my uncle Ismael, but a lady approached her with concern, which made me notice her immediately, and asked for someone named Hanna, a name I had never heard in my life.

Most important of all, both my father and my uncle changed their expressions, looked at her with displeasure, as if she had mentioned the devil, and, in a not-so-kind way, asked her not to mention that name again.

The mass went smoothly, but she didn't forget my grandmother's annoyed expression at the attitude of my uncles, it was as if they had done something wrong, as well as when my mom was upset about me doing something mischievous, she just hadn't understood what was wrong with them to make grandma upse
