Kai

I sat just outside class, fidgeting with my phone as I patiently waited for a reply from Alexis. She had bailed classes and was nowhere in school and I'd began to assume it was because of me.

I liked her, she was cool and unlike the girls I've been with or around, she was real as real can be. I've watched her closely like a hawk watching its prey, except, she was no prey. She'd caught my eyes since the very first moment I walked into neuroscience class and had to swap seats with her.

I wasn't fond of relationships and whatnots but I craved more with her, wanted to know her, unravel her like the mystery she was. Heck, no female attracted me as much as she did but I had to keep away. Now I'm hoping I'm not too late.

“Kai!”

I heard a voice call me from afar, breaking me from my train of thoughts. Lifting my head up, I spotted my friend, Omar walking towards me with a grin on his face.
