After having lunch I took the dishes to the kitchen and cleaned them, returning to an empty dining room.Where did he go? I made my way to his room and it was empty too. I sighed before making my way to his home study. I placed a knock on the door and pushed the door open when I heard him say come in from the other end.I met his eyes as I walked into the room closing the door behind me. This was actually my first time coming into his study, it was usually off-limits.“I knew it! I knew this was too good to be true.” I say folding my arms.“What was?”“You coming back home earlier than usual. I should have known you’d still come here to work.” He merely nods at me as he darts back at his laptop’s screen. “You work too much and you should be resting, whatever you’re working on can wait till tomorrow when you’re at the office. Do something else, do something fun.” I suggested but William didn’t look away from his laptop’s screen but I know he heard me.I looked away walking around the
Saturdays are meant for sleeping in yet William Atlas Armani was fully awake, his movements around the room were disturbing my beautiful sleep. What was he even looking for? He was dressed in a male tank top and black basketball shorts with his sneakers laced. This has become a Saturday ritual for him every morning, I don’t even know how I didn’t notice it at first maybe because he didn’t usually make this amount of noise before.I wonder why one would decide to go out to exercise so early on a Saturday morning. Like why? Why would you get up so early at five a.m. when the sun isn’t even up yet to jog and exercise at the gymI frowned in my sleepy state watching him rummage around the room with my half-closed lids. He finally finds whatever he is looking for and exits the room, shutting the door behind him. Finally, peace.I sigh, snuggling deeper into bed and dozing off momentarily. I woke up four hours later and yawned, getting up from the bed. I walked to his bathroom since he said
After breakfast, he went to his room first. He had thirty minutes before meeting me in the living room. I cleared my used plate and spent the next few minutes heating popcorn to munch on while watching the movie, getting a duvet for myself.Just as he said he would, William walked through the living room door exactly thirty minutes later, he walked up to the TV, switched it on, and selected a movie. He turned and made his way to the couch where I sat, settling down in the seat beside me.“What movie did you put on?” I ask seeing as he blocked my vision earlier when he was selecting a movie.“You’ll see it when it starts,” he responds with a mischievous look in his eyes.“Okay,” I say, dragging the word as I glance at him suspiciously. As the movie intro began, I knew immediately that I wasn’t going to like the movie at all.“Are you scared?” William asks, he wasn’t asking because he cared, he was asking just to spite me and I knew that with the amusement swirling in his eyes. Was this
William’s p.o.vI walked out of the living room and made my way to my home study, my mind still spinning from what had just occurred. What just happened in there? I can’t believe I almost kissed her, what the hell was I thinking? As I sat on my desk, I opened my laptop and tried working but it seemed useless as the memory lingered in my head and I could still feel her holding onto my arm as I got lost staring into her coffee-brown eyes, her shoulder-length hair cascading freely on her shoulders. Has she always been this beautiful?A fucking coward I had become.I spent the rest of the day in my study, only coming out late at night when I knew for a fact that she had already gone to bed.I know it was silly of me to go out of my way just to avoid her but what else was I supposed to do? I wasn’t used to feeling this way, feelings are weak and they would only make you think stupid and act weak. And I am not a weak man!Bailey felt like an annoying rash that I couldn’t get rid of no matte
Bailey's povIn the three days that followed, I barely saw William at the house. He shut himself in his study throughout that day and as Monday came around, he left for work even before I woke up and came back very late, later than his usual time, he was putting a lot of effort into avoiding me.William stayed away from me, limiting the conversations between us both. I knew he was avoiding me because of the kiss we had almost shared but I compelled myself into believing he was just busier at work due to the launch preparation going on at the office. He barely even spoke to anyone, on the few occasions I saw him, he would hurriedly pass by without saying a word and I didn’t like it one bit, it felt like we were going back to when I got here for the first time and the annoying part of it all was the fact that I couldn’t stop thinking about that moment that had occurred in the living room, the scene kept replaying in my head, haunting my thoughts even when my eyes were shut.Staying in
“so how was your day?” Cedrick asked as I sat in the car, shutting the car door and securing my belt. I called him a couple of minutes ago to come pick me up since it was nearing 6 p.m., and I wanted to be back in the house before darkness fell.“It was nice, it has been a while since I hung out with her so it was nice doing that again,” I say and he nods starting the car’s engine. I closed my eyes, letting my head fall back on the headrest as the car drove, lulling me gradually to sleep.“Bailey, we’re here.” I heard Cedrick say waking me up, I rubbed my eyes groggily as I stared out of the window, glancing at the entrance of the house before turning to him.It felt like I shut my eyes and was woken up immediately after but I knew it was longer than that.“Thanks, Cedrick, have a good night,” I say yawning as I alight from the car, shutting the door behind me “you too Bailey.” I nod with a smile on my face before walking up the stairs to the entrance of the house.“Bailey, is that y
“My God!” I exclaimed, my heart racing. I dropped the statue on the floor by my side, I mentally facepalmed myself, realizing my mistake of course it was William swimming in the dark. Classic!“Why didn’t you put on a light or something, I thought maybe someone had broken in.”“Oh aren't you the brightest,” he snorts sarcastically. “Why would someone break in here to take a swim in the pool when there are loads of expensive valuable items littered around the house.”“How was I supposed to know that? I haven’t never broken into someone’s home before so you can’t blame me for trying to protect myself.” I replied defensively.“And you just had to pick one of my antique statues as a weapon?” He asks.“Of course, it makes a good weapon and it’s heavy, you should thank your stars I didn’t throw that thing at you,” I replied pointing at the statue on the floor. I bent down and picked it up, placing it down on one of the lounge chairs so I wouldn’t break it accidentally. “And why are you even
William and I kept talking about random events that had occurred in each other's lives, our conversation flowed smoothly before the ensuing silence as we glanced up at the moon from our respective places in the pool. I glanced at William before looking down at the water as a thought popped into my head.“What?” William asks and I raise my eyes to him.“Nothing,” I say, trying to keep my face neutral so he won’t suspect me, which seemed hard seeing as I was a bit tipsy so my face was stuck in a literal grin. The wine bottle finished a while back and I went in to get another for the both of us.“Your blank face isn’t working.” He says in a slightly amused tone. “Your grin is a dead giveaway, what do you have going on in your head?”“Nothing,” I say without missing a beat. The playful grin on my face only widened as I kicked my feet in the water, sending a splash in William’s direction, spraying him with the splashes.“Stop it.” He says with a slight playfulness in his tone as he wipes h
