CHAPTER 98

While yawning, I stretch my body and turn to look at the clock on the wall. It was still pretty early and I was surprised I was awake at this time since I got back late yesterday. I turned, sprawling myself comfortably, and rested my head on the pillow facing the empty side of the bed where William usually slept.

As if on cue, William walked out of his closet dressed for work, looking sharp.

Is this man a robot? Only he would be up so early after getting off a nine-hour flight the day before.

“Good morning.” He says, sparing a glance at me as he picks his phone up from his bedside table.

Did William just greet me in the morning? I guess something did change.

“Morning,” I mumble in my sleepy state, my eyes still half closed. “Enjoy your day at the office.” I wasn’t sure if he heard me or if he even replied cause the next thing, I was out like a light.
