Chapter 18: You’re My Best Friend

Prisley looked nervously at Mark, worried he might clash with Heather.

In the corridor, a cheerful man in a floral shirt and a stern man in full formal attire approached each other with piercing gazes. Prisley kept her eyes fixed on the ground a meter ahead, afraid to witness this showdown!

Mark appeared relaxed, with a hint of playful smirk. He glanced at Heather from the corner of his eye but didn't greet him. He swung an empty necklace box in his hand until they brushed past each other.

Heather also locked eyes with them. His sharp gaze fixed on Prisley's face, not even sparing a glance at Mark. The radiance of the huge diamond on Prisley's chest caught his eye, intensifying the coldness in his gaze, making him even more chilling.

Prisley nervously met Heather’s gaze, nodding in acknowledgment, but she already felt stiff and numb from head to toe. In this short corridor, she felt like a puppet, walking clumsily.
