Dinner Gone Wrong

Damien's POV.

I knew my competition was back and he sounded more confident than before, however, his sudden change of demeanor couldn't intimidate me. I, Damien Sinclair, wasn't someone to be easily daunted.

"I'd like to see you try but you will end up six feet under the ground," I whispered and curled my lips into a smirk.

I could feel his tension, but his next words revealed a significant change in Roman.

"You stole my lines, Damien." Roman let out a chuckle and stepped away from me.

He gave my hand a strong squeeze that was almost bone-crushing. The pain was sudden and sharp, but I remained composed.

He released my hand and faced Elise with a smile on his lips.

"I want to give my condolences for what happened to your beautiful child. I was so busy months ago that I never had any time for social media. I'm sorry for not being here for you,"
