It was understandable that Casey could not meet her eyes. She was not sure if it was because of guilt or just him trying not to get distracted by her. Ava didn’t think too much about it and went about the wedding as if she didn’t sleep with the groom.
It was time for the wedding and people were filing into the hotel. Since there was an area just for weddings, it was designed perfectly to the image of whatever couple was getting married that day. There was white silk running through the middle of the room, being the aisle for Klaire to walk down. And on either side, there were round tables and chairs accompanying them. Each table decorated with flowers and having wine bottles and glasses.
Ava knew that she would need to sip some wine in order to get through the wedding. She was just waiting for it all to be over. Now that she had done the unspeakable with Casey, she was looking to get on the next plane and run back to Los Angeles and forg
As soon as the wedding was over Ava was on the next plane back to Los Angeles. The immense relief she felt when the plane took off made her entire body slouch. She had been on edge since the wedding and her body had become so stiff because of it. For the rest of the time there, she did not speak to Casey, and after the wedding Klaire, and actually sent someone to find her so that she could make a toast at the dinner. Ava had never been more consumed with guilt than at that moment in her life. Klaire had thanked her for saving her relationship and wished that Ava could continue to help them in the future, and yet Ava slept with her husband. During Ava’s speech, she said that she was happy that she was able to witness such a lovely relationship flourish into a marriage and that she wished they would last forever and have wonderful children. Everyone knew that she was bullshitting but the speech was nice and so no one thought much about it. And it wasn’t lik
Casey had not stopped thinking about Ava. Even though he was on his romantic honeymoon in Greece. The skies and the beach were blue and he had Klaire with him, his wife. The wife he reluctantly married and wanted nothing more than to get rid of. The wife he was using to hold up his foolish image just to avoid embarrassment. Even though these were the thoughts going through his head, he still acted as if he was the happiest person in the world. But besides that, there were things he should be happy about. Aside from Klaire, he was in Greece and had the liberty to roam around freely without being stared at too much, and of course, the paparazzi were nowhere to be found. So he took it as a vacation and tried to enjoy it as much as he could. “Come on,” Klaire pulled his arm. “Let’s go there.” At the side of the road, they were walking down, there was a little jewelry stand that had probably been handcrafted. There were some
Casey could not get it up. Understandable. It was Klaire after all. He was honestly relieved, to be honest. But when it came to Klaire, it seemed to be the end of the world and he could see that she was probably on the verge of tears. The thing that was most pleasing about the situation was that Klaire seemed to think that it was her fault and not his. It was great that she didn’t try to push it on him because it definitely was her and would admit that, but he didn’t want to deal with becoming a widower only a couple of days after his marriage. Although that title didn't sound too bad. Klaire sat on the edge of the bed, with her back facing him as if she was feeling shameful and it was honestly sad. A lot of people assume that men leave the women they are seeing because they are not able to pleasure them sexually, and while that may be true in some cases, it is mostly because of the simple loss in interest that carried over into a loss of interest with that person.
Casey watched as Ava’s face morphed through many different emotions. At first, she was taken back, and disgusted, then angry, emotionless, and then angry again. “Casey Miller… you did not just utter those words to me.” her voice came out as soft a whisper as if she was having a hard time grasping what he had just told her. “I- I just- you make mefeelAva. You make me feel things that I didn’t know I could feel. Not after probably going emotionally and sexually numb because of Klaire.” Ava let out a huff and looked around as if scared that someone would hear them. She stepped out of the door frame and grabbed his arm, pulling him into the apartment. Once the door was closed, her back was to him. “Take off your shoes.” Once he had done so, he followed behind Ava closely, as if scared of getting lost in her nice apartment. It was clean, pristine, and sleek. He kind of
When Casey grabbed her hand, Ava’s heart skipped a beat. She cursed silently, wishing that her body would not react like that. If only she could give into his words and take him seriously. If only she could ignore all the red flags and go for it. But it was just too much. She was betraying everything she knew. She would be an adulterer if she proceeded to do anything else with Casey. Which is why she wanted their night together to remain in the past. To remain a memory. A memory she wished she could get rid of.“Mr. Miller, what we did is wrong. Whether or not I felt something. Whether or not you feel something. It is wrong. If I could change the past then I would. We cannot continue down the path, it will harm many people. You and I included.” Ava pulled her hand away.“But… if I break up with Klaire. If I leave her-”“If you leave Klaire then good for you. You are doing what the
August 24th - The Night Before The WeddingCasey rolled to face Ava, she had no idea how many times they had done it, but she wanted to go again for however long she wanted. The feeling of Casey repeatedly pounding into her was brain-meltingly good and she honestly didn’t think she would be able to move on with life without it.He smiled at her, his hair sticking to his forehead and his chest heaving up and down. They had just finished around and it was probably their third one. Ava’s phone was somewhere around, but she was too lazy to check it to get the time.“Are you ok?” Casey asked, pushing himself up on his forearms.Ava took a breath and licked her lips. “Yes,” she sounded breathless because she was.He chuckled and leaned closer to her, his hair flopped on her forehead and Ava laughed, she found the action. Leaning into
Casey was kicked out as soon as Ava finished hugging him. There were a million things running through his mind as he tried to figure out what it all meant. Did she want to move on, was that hug a goodbye hug? Was it her telling him to wait? Was it a yes to him wanting to be with her? Was she reciprocating his feelings?None of those questions were answered and he was simply kicked out of her apartment. There weren’t any looks that she gave him that suggested anything positive, or negative, it was just neutral. Ava was neutral and he didn’t know what that meant. He walked down to his car with a feeling in his chest that was a mix of disappointment and agitation. Casey didn’t know why he expected to get a positive answer from her. He was asking her to betray all she knew just so that he could feel good. But she felt good too, he knew, she said so. It wasn’t just about the sex, it was about the feelings. The way she lo
Ava had not said a word since they got inside. They both sat on the couch, in the same places they were earlier. And Ava just looked at Casey, with this look on her face that he could not place. It was like she was studying him, but at the same time she looked zoned out. Casey was tempted to speak up and say something, but he didn’t want to ruin whatever thoughts she may have going on in her mind.Admittedly, what he did this morning was selfish and was putting some pressure on Ava. It would have been easy for her to just shut him out and never talk to him again, but she actually decided to have him in her apartment. Which didn’t exactly mean that he was going to hear something good, but it meant that she was at least thinking about it and had something to say regarding the matter.“What happened that night… have you told anyone about it?”Without hesitation. “No! Never- I would never t
