Alpha Ryder's Pov______________The sun was setting, and the air was crisp and cool. Werewolves from all over the region had gathered in the open field outside my pack house set yesterday by Aunt Hannah for the annual mating ball. The atmosphere was electric, and the anticipation was palpable.As the guests arrived, they were greeted by all Alpha's pack members, who checked them in and directed them to the main event area. Charia's Pov_____________I felt better getting out of the hospital or let's just say, I was eager to show up for Alpha Ryder. He let out his feelings to me and the little I could do was be there for him after he saved me. I walked into the mating ball hosted behind Alpha Ryder's mansion. I covered my face with a little veil and truth be told I was extremely nervous to be here. I was scared to see any of my family members here and I didn't want to make a scene or put my life in danger. All I wanted to do was sneak in and see Alpha Ryder.As I walked on the little sidewalk where the party was not mainly hosted , I could see the Alpha platform from a long distance. I didn't want to go into the spotlight where the influential Alphas were, and I needed to get Alpha Ryder's attention also, so I hung around for a bit. Delphi stormed into the living room, slamming the door behind her. Her face was twisted with anger, her fists clenched at her sides."What happened, Delphi?" her mother asked, looking up from her knitting.Delphi paced back and forth across the living room, her breath coming in short, angry bursts. "It's Charia," she spat. "She was at the mating ball with the greatest Alpha, and he was all over her. Everyone was talking about them, saying that she's his mate."Her father looked up from his newspaper, his expression darkening. "That's impossible," he said. "Charia doesn't have the wolf. She can't be a mate to anyone.""I know that," Delphi said, her voice rising. "But he was with her all night, and he even gave her a special dance. It was like he was showing her off to everyone.""Why are we even talking about Charia and Alpha Ryder. We should be talking about her still being alive""He said she was in coma.
