Charia's Pov_______________I opened my eyes to the sound of beeping machines and the sterile smell of a hospital. It takes me a moment to remember why I'm here. I killed myself. My heart raced as I tried to move, but I find that I can't. Charia's Pov____________It took me by surprise when Doctor Tessa rushed into my ward and said Alpha Ryder was here to see me. It was very late and visiting hours were over. I had to pretend to be in a coma once again. Why was he here so suddenly?, Did he find out I was already awake?Doctor Tessa set me up again and in a few minutes, Alpha Ryder rushed to my bedside. Werewolves from all over the region had gathered in the open field outside my pack house set yesterday by Aunt Hannah for the annual mating ball. The atmosphere was electric, and the anticipation was palpable.As the guests arrived, they were greeted by all Alpha's pack members, who checked them in and directed them to the main event area. Charia's Pov_____________I felt better getting out of the hospital or let's just say, I was eager to show up for Alpha Ryder. He let out his feelings to me and the little I could do was be there for him after he saved me. I walked into the mating ball hosted behind Alpha Ryder's mansion. I covered my face with a little veil and truth be told I was extremely nervous to be here. I was scared to see any of my family members here and I didn't want to make a scene or put my life in danger. All I wanted to do was sneak in and see Alpha Ryder.As I walked on the little sidewalk where the party was not mainly hosted , I could see the Alpha platform from a long distance. I didn't want to go into the spotlight where the influential Alphas were, and I needed to get Alpha Ryder's attention also, so I hung around for a bit. Delphi stormed into the living room, slamming the door behind her. Her face was twisted with anger, her fists clenched at her sides."What happened, Delphi?" her mother asked, looking up from her knitting.Delphi paced back and forth across the living room, her breath coming in short, angry bursts. "It's Charia," she spat. "She was at the mating ball with the greatest Alpha, and he was all over her. Everyone was talking about them, saying that she's his mate."Her father looked up from his newspaper, his expression darkening. "That's impossible," he said. "Charia doesn't have the wolf. She can't be a mate to anyone.""I know that," Delphi said, her voice rising. "But he was with her all night, and he even gave her a special dance. It was like he was showing her off to everyone.""Why are we even talking about Charia and Alpha Ryder. We should be talking about her still being alive""He said she was in coma. Maybe she did survive""And if she did, the next thing he did is to mate her?

"She tricked you, made you save her friends, and then collided with your enemy"Alpha Lugard got mad at what Delphi said. "I would invite them over for dinner, we would conclude this after hearing from them. If it appears that Charia had confessed to Alpha Ryder about us, we would know from his expressions and answers. If they are really mates too, we would know from their closeness. So Delphi my daughter put your mind at rest and focus on your marriage which is the most important thing for us now"Delphi's anger subsided a little, replaced by a sense of satisfaction. Maybe her parents were right. Maybe Charia was up to something, and they could use it to their advantage._____
