CHAPTER 22: AN ALPHA’S SHAME

ROSALINE’S POV:

I never thought I would be so happy to hear that voice again. I have never felt so much relief before in my life. Honestly, I could cry right about now.

I felt my chains come undone, and I was lifted off the guillotine. I was wrapped in a familiar pair of muscular arms, and Damien’s heavenly scent filled my nostrils.

I could not help but bury my face into his chest and the tears that spilt out of my eyes.

"What is the meaning of this insult, Damien? Have you completely lost your mind? You are getting in the way of justice!" The alpha king snapped, and I could hear him getting nearer and nearer. Damien’s arms tightened around me protectively.

"Justice? This is anything but justice! You were just about to take the life of an innocent woman!" Damien roared; his voice echoed in the wind, and the people began to whisper among themselves.
