CHAPTER 21: THE HEARING

ROSALINE’S POV:

I brought out my wrists and watched as the guards cuffed them along with my ankles. I swear they wanted to put one around my neck, but Damien’s growl had them immediately abandoning that idea.

They came to get me from his room, and we were both changed now. Damien came to stand before me, taking my face in his hands and looking at me with so much intensity that my knees were growing weak.

"Everything is going to be alright, I promise." He said, and despite the pounding in my chest, I felt comfort in his words.

I gave him a single nod before he took a step away from me. He signalled for the guards to take me away. He met my eyes one last time and said,

"I will be there soon. I need to do something quickly."

His statement had my eyebrows creasing, and worry was washing over me like a tsunami.

"Where are you going?" I asked him, not bothering to hide the fear in my voice.
