030. “You are still here staring at me? You are fired! Now, get out of my office.”

I drove into the hotel’s parking lot and tossed my key to the valet driver, I went in and booked a room giving specific instructions to the receptionist that I didn’t want to be disturbed. I was shown to my room and I checked in.

Some hours later, I had gotten over the sadness and tears but the anger in me was still very much boiling and I just needed a cool drink to ease my blood pressure. I picked up the phone and dialed room service.

“Why is the refrigerator here empty?”

“Because you didn’t make an earlier reservation, we would have stocked it beforehand but you didn’t. Which drink would you like ma?”

“Are you serious? What do you mean I didn’t make a reservation beforehand?”

“Ma’am that is the hotel’s policy. We can’t just stock an empty hotel room. I’ll send someone to bring a basket of exquisite drinks to your suite. Please bear with us a couple of minutes.” The call dropped and I was enraged even further.
