Chapter 7

　　“Ethan...” she walked closer to him. Tears gently streamed her face, her lips quivered and her eardrums constricted. She couldn't even lift her legs well, it was as though they had been rooted to the ground and were too heavy to lift them.

　　“Ethan... have you forgotten all you said to me? How can you even talk like this? How can you reject me? You said you would never reject me, you said you would protect me, you said you were going to stay with me no matter what, you said...” she paused and swallowed the loud cry that was going to fall off her mouth. Pile tears dripped down her face, she couldn't take the pain that engulfed her heart.

　　Ethan said nothing rather he touched Rissa’s hand and pressed it tightly probably to control himself since his wolf was fighting to set loose.

　　“But you are not good enough for me. You're not ready and strong for the position that lies ahead, I'm sorry Cassie but only love is not enough,” he said and looked away.

　　Cassie smiled sadly and moved closer, looking into his eyes.

　　“I promised to do anything you want, Ethan. Don't push me away... I can't... My... I can't...” she kept pausing to catch her breath. The way she talked looked like she was weak and would fall if pushed away.

　　Just as she was about to say another word, Luna Monica came out from the kitchen and poured hot spaghetti sauce on her.

　　“Splash!” made the sound.

　　Cassie danced around as the hotness of the sauce caused her pain, more pain than usual. She closed her eyes, the pain gently ate her up. She couldn't sob or yell anymore. The cruelty of these wealthy people hit her so hard.

　　Memories splashed into her brain and she remembered the past.

　　That day was a Sunday, Luna Monica had called her into her room. She went in and greeted her very well.

　　“Cassie, can you do something for me?” asked Luna Monica.

　　Cassie nodded her head. After all, Luna Monica had saved her from the hands of her rapist and the hands of starvation and wandering about. She owed Luna Monica her life, she thought.

　　“You know Ethan is sick now and he hasn't gotten his wolf so he has not been able to heal at all. His kidney is badly affected and he needs a donation. Cassie...” Luna Monica fell on her knees and held Cassie’s hand.

　　“I know you have feelings for Ethan and you will do anything for him. I know you are just seventeen and you haven't gotten your mate yet but who knows, you could be mated to my son or better still, he could fall in love with you. Please help my son, Cassie. I owe you one, I owe you his life and I owe you everything.” Luna Monica cried. Cassie helped her to sit down and faced her well with a smile mixed with tears.

　　“I will do anything for sir Ethan,” Cassie had told her.

　　Cassie opened her eyes gently and saw the cruelty that lay in Luna Monica's heart. After she gave Ethan her kidney, Luna Monica stopped being nice to her and that was why she was scared Luna Monica would kill her if she finds out she was mated to Ethan.

　　However, when she accepted her, she thought Luna Monica was back to being nice until now. Have they forgotten so soon? How she gave Ethan her kidney? Has she forgotten how she saved her son and without her right now, Ethan would be dead?

　　“Babe, don't yell at her. She didn't do anything bad, it is all my fault. I shouldn't have stood up,” Rissa explained innocently.

　　Ethan held her hand and looked at her. Cassie clutched her hand against her chest, her wolf kept whimpering weakly and kicking her legs making Cassie’s heart hurt.

　　It was as though her wolf was punishing her as well. Ethan had shut his wolf off so he didn't feel or felt just a little pain. Unlike Cassie who allowed the pain to wash all over her.

　　Cassie couldn't stay with them anymore, she rushed out where she collapsed on the floor and cried her heart out. She held unto her cloth and cried loudly until her voice hitched.

　　“Momma...” she cried

　　“Daddy...”

　　She saw her parents and twin sister killed in her face, she had gone to the underground pantry to pick some ingredients for soup that day when they came.

　　They shot her sister before shooting her mother than her father. She couldn't scream or they would kill her too, she had to stay in there until they left.

　　Ever since she became a rogue until Luna Monica saw her. She saved her and took her to her home where she met Ethan. She fell in love with him and he did the same after they were declared mates. She even gave him her kidney but now, he chose another woman.

　　Just as tears slipped through her face, the head guard, Troy heard her cries and took paced to her.

　　Troy had a well-built body and he was a trainer as well. He squatted to her level and touched her gently so that she turned to him.

　　“Troy...” she cried once she saw him.

　　“Please don’t cry. Future Alpha Ethan doesn't know what he has lost. Maybe if he knows that you have started training for his sake and preparing yourself for the big position, he wouldn't reject you. Cassie, you have to be strong,” said Troy.

　　Cassie nodded her head. She wrapped her hands around Troy and sobbed louder while he pets her back.

　　Luna Monica sat in her room, Rissa sat in front of her with smiles on her face and a fruit cake on her lap, she cut it into her mouth and chewed gently.

　　“I thought you said you wanted Cassie for Ethan?” Rissa asked looking at her.

　　“Yes I did and that's because she gave Ethan her Kidney which Ethan doesn't even know of.”

　　“Yeah, isn't that why he is with me right now? He thinks I am the one that saved his life but that aside, she is too weak to be his Luna.” Rissa rolled her eyes.

　　“Yes, but I found something else. That child is the daughter of Prestly Young, my son can never get married to a young.”

　　“Who is Prestly young?” asked Rissa looking at Luna with a confused face.

　　“Prestly young was a powerful wolf with riches greater than that of an Alpha. When my husband was younger, a new Alpha, he didn't have many things and he pleaded with his best friend, Prestly to give him some things to enable him to rule but Prestly gave him just a little. One day, my husband planned to take all these things from Prestly but he could only access it by eliminating him.” Luna Monica explained to Rissa.

　　Rissa widened her eyes.

　　“You mean your husband killed Cassie’s father? But why did you accept her into the house when you know she is Prestly young’s daughter?”

　　“I didn't know until now. I saw the same mark Prestly gave his family on the side of her stomach and instantly knew. I had to make sure Ethan leave her and that's why I eliminated his father and blamed it on him. It was the only way to save us from that yet to boom disaster.” explained Luna Monica.

　　Rissa widened her eyes.

　　“Wow! You're so brave and strong.”

　　“A luna must be sharp unless she would be belittled and trampled upon. This life is a race, if you have to cheat to be at the front then do it.”
