Chapter 3 You have to go

Once listening to it, Betthany and her mother blocked the entrance firmly with arms folded across the chest and looked at Clara provocatively.

Clara sneered and mocked, “So fast to show the cloven hoof huh? My good sister and stepmother?”

This mother and daughter had been playing two-faced since she returned home from the countryside.

One way in front of her father, and another way behind his back.

She was used to it.

So, she won’t believe anything came out from their mouth.

Clara did not have the patience to spend with them, and just squeezed in through the gap between them.

The mother and sister were pushed aside by Clara, and the mother nearly fell because she was wearing high heels.

Betthany quickly supported her mother, and shouted, “Clara! You sure will be punished when daddy comes back!”

Clara turned a deaf ear and went upstairs.

Clara’s father finally returned at noon.

At the dining table.

Her father, John, spoke directly to Clara, “Clara, you go to that room again tonight. The CEO of Smith group will be there and waiting for you.”

“About the incident last night, Mr Smith will have forgotten about it. If you serve him nicely, he will continue to invest.”

Clara felt unbelievable with the words she heard.

Yesterday failed, today comes again.

He will not stop sending her daughter away.

This must be his purpose for bringing her back, after throwing her to the countryside for ten years.

“I won’t go!” Clara refused outright.

John began to play the feelings card when saw her daughter with tough attitudes.

“Clara, this company was created by your mom. Now the company is in trouble, I think you won’t like to see your mom’s efforts being ruined, right?”

“Oh, you still remember that it was my mom’s efforts.” Clara looked up at her father and coldly mocking.

John shown a smile.

“I was the one who disappointed your mother. Aren’t I trying to make up for it now?”

“What you mean by making amends is throwing her daughter away in the countryside and finally getting her back but look! What are you doing now? You got me back just to sell my body!”

“Now the company is in trouble, dad has no choice but to do it.”

Clara looked at her father, her heart sank.

She wanted to argue, but ended up swallowing all the words back into her stomach.

There was no amount of talking that can be done to a parent who has already lost his heart.

Clara looked at the eye in the side and had been well-behaved to eat, in fact in the schadenfreude of Betthany.

Clara got an idea.

“I thought you had another daughter.”

“I think they’ve enjoyed enough through these years, it’s time for them to contribute to this family, isn't it?”

As soon as the words came out, John’s face turned badly and with serious words, “Stay away from your sister.”

“She has a marriage contract with the Walker family, you can’t destroy it!”

Clara’s heart sank into the valley when she saw her father protected Betthany without thinking so much.

“So, you want to destroy me?”

“But I remember that the Walker family was not satisfied, as sister is the daughter of a mistress and planned to break off the marriage.”

Once the words were out, Betthany and Ada’s face turned white.

Being a mistress is a thing, but being told by others is a different thing.

John became angry from embarrassment with Clara’s stubbornness.

“I’m telling you, not informing you. You must go today! No matter what.”

He then came out with the killer card.

“If you still want the shares that your mom left for you, you better listen to me.”

Clara stopped and clenched her fingers slowly.

About the shares, her grandpa had told her before he passed away.

She came back this time to get back the shares, and took a chance to look at what kind of father can be cruel like this until threw his own daughter to the countryside.

She did not have the heart to do with the shares before because her father had spent lots to operate the company.

But now she knew, some people were not worthy of being a father.

A harsh light slowly came into Clara’s eyes.
