CHAPTER FIFTY SIX
The drive home was really quiet because I didn't know what to say. This is not me. I hate this new person that I am becoming. I've never been the insecure type. Why did the thought of wearing a dress so beautiful terrify me? Maybe because I did not want to embarrass Jake for his meeting tonight. Very close to the house Jake placed his right hand on my thigh and gave me a gentle squeeze. I turned to find him looking at me.
“You're beautiful love and I love every inch of you” God no. Does he know what I was thinking?
“Thank you” I forced out not wanting to act like this anymore.
“I had plans for dinner as a surprise but we will just eat in today” He confessed. So there wa no meeting. I smiled.
“I appreciate it, Jake,” I told him.
