Ace didn't use his alpha voice, but his loud, wall-shaking voice immediately silenced me.

Jared is going to kill me and my babies?

That's bullshit!

"You sound like you're talking about yourself, Ace!" I snapped.

Did Ace think it would be that easy to fool me? He spoke as if he knew what was happening, even though he wasn't there.

"I know who you are, Victoria. And why they're hunting you," Ace hissed.

I was surprised to hear him say that. Did that mean Ace knew I was a Salvatore descendant? Did he know about the hunters?

I snorted in disgust at the sight of him. "Whoever I am, I have nothing to do with you." I snapped.

"Of course you do! You're my mate. Whether you like it or not, whatever happens to you always has something to do with me." he retorted.

I turned to Ace and squinted at him.

"Mate? Really? You never thought of me that way." I looked him sharply in the eye. "You only thought of me as your slave, didn't you?" I continued, digging into his memory of what he had
