Chapter 33

I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Ace, the man I knew as the cursed man, was holding a baby. I wanted to laugh, thinking it might be a hallucination, but what I saw was real.

Ace could have done it more easily. Not at all! He was very stiff, but he was able to make the baby stop crying. Something I wasn't even sure I could do. Strange, but that's how it was.

When I arrived, Ace immediately handed the baby to the nurse. He looked at me coldly, as usual. He didn't say anything either; he just stepped aside and gave me room to get closer to my baby.

The nurse handed me a baby and said, "This is your baby boy.

I couldn't help but smile as I watched the baby squirm playfully. His lips and tongue twitched. The baby looked restless, as if he were searching for something. I was a new mother, but I knew what this baby wanted.

"I think he's starving," the nurse said.

"I know," I said.

I can't describe what it feels like to be a mother: the joy and the emotion. I
