Aguilar:

“You want me to leave?” Liana asked, and I chuckled.

I cupped her cheeks and ran my fingers over her cheekbone, my eyes softening as I saw her eyes fixed on mine. The same eyes that were scared the day before, the same eyes that were doubting me when she first looked at me.

“No, not at all. But I have work to take care of, and I doubt that you should be neglecting your classes any longer.” I said, and she pouted.

“I doubt that there is anything that I would be learning that you can’t teach me if you want to. Plus, you know that I know how to read and write, you can give me one of those books that you stacked everywhere. They should teach me a thing or two, but I do not intend to be taught as a slave would.” She said, and I laughed. I lowered my hands to her waist, gently pulling her to me, and she smiled as I purred. “Do you always purr?”

“Only when I am happy.” I said, making her eyes soften.

“Can I take it that I am making you happy?” She asked, and I nodded.
