Prologue

“It is said that a day will come when an emerald green will take all that blue holds dear. Eye will meet one, and the war will never cease to end.” The Alpha’s mother said, looking at the green eyed slave, her name was Liana. “A twine or bound, one unbreakable, as her name would mean. And the reign of him who rules will be with her.”

“It is a prophecy said long ago to the Alpha’s Luna, her name Ella. The mother of the Alpha’s only heir.” The woman, they called her Mother or sometimes even mother Luna. Despite her not carrying the blood of royalty, it was her son who had announced her to the world as his mother, deeming her the mother Luna, a title first of its kind, and though they did not like it, they knew to respect it.

“Why do I have to know of this when I have just left the Alpha’s chamber, mother Luna?” Liana asked, despite herself, hating the fact that she was to call her mother. She knew not to believe in the lies that they fed her, she knew to hold strong and stand her ground; she would be dead if not.

“Green will take all that blue holds dear.” The mother Luna returned again, looking at the girl’s eyes. Liana looked down at her feet, but the woman stood and put her finger under her chin, forcing her to look her in the eye. “You may leave. Clean up yourself and then go and tend to your classes. You have missed many already as you were in the private chamber, I can assume that you would have to catch up.”

She walked out of the room without saying a word, and it was seconds later that the terrace door opened, revealing the blue eyed woman, Luna Ella, the Alpha’s first woman.

“Did you see her, mother Luna? The arrogance in her eyes, and the deviousness…”

“She is nothing but a human, a slave, and a peasant for the Alpha’s pleasure. You go and take care of your son. Trust me, she is not going to be able to do anything, neither to you, nor to Daniel. It is only a matter of time before Aguilar grows tired of her, but you must know that as Alpha, we cannot control what he is to do. Therefore, I would suggest that you respect him, his decision, and what he chooses. Go and take care of Daniel, and do not make silly mistakes, do you understand me?”

“But mother, the prophecy said otherwise. If that is to be true, then why have we been removing all the green eyed women, keeping from entering the Alpha’s private chamber? Wasn’t it to protect me and my son?” She asked, and the queen mother shook her head.

“It is because Aguilar has his preference, and green was never one of them. Now, go and leave yourself out of this nonsense and stop acting like an inexperienced slave. You are a Luna, and your place is beside your son and your Alpha. Rather than wasting your time on a worthless slave, I would suggest that you go and take care of your son.”

“Yes, mother Luna,” she said, looking down at her feet before taking a step back to leave.

Luna Ella’s heart raced against her chest as she saw her headmistress waiting for her by the door. Her heart was racing against her ribcage before she looked at the woman, Jasmine.

“Luna…”

“The mother Luna has given up on me when it comes to the slave.” She said, stopping her headmistress. “We are going to have to protect both Daniel and the Alpha from her. Otherwise, we are going to lose everything, and I do not intend to lose myself and what I have gained to the slave…”
