Chapter 41

Diego:

I frowned when I opened my eyes to find Lea sleeping by my side.

She had her head on the edge of the bed, and I couldn’t help but run my finger through her hair. However, to my surprise, the woman jumped in fright, growing alert, causing the blanket that was draped over her shoulders to fall behind her.

She looked around the room for a second too long only to look at me and to process the fact that I was awake.

“Alpha?” She asked, and I nodded. Her eyes studied my expression, and I took a deep breath.

“Water?” I asked, and she shook her head, snapping out of her daze. It was only now that I realized how dried my lips were, and the need for water became urgent for me.

She got up from the chair, and walked toward the dresser that was in the room. A water jar was there, and I watched as she poured a few drops in a napkin as she walked to me. She gently dabbed my lips with it and poured a few drops inside my mouth before removing it.
