I was standing in the shadows at the back of the great hall. I hated these events; I hated these people, and most of all, I hated this pack. In the four years since I had been assigned to the Dark Moon pack, my hatred had only grown stronger. They acted all high and mighty with the fake Alpha King sitting on his throne of lies every day. 

But I had to push aside my hatred. I had to ensure I had the trust of the pack. I had a mission, a duty. I was here to watch.
