Ruby Maverick POV

"Do you have any other pressing schedules after the meeting with Alpha Theron?" I asked as I adjusted the buttons on the shirt around my wrist. My black hair in a ponytail swayed with the tempo of my footsteps.

Adam glanced at the document in his hand. "Nothing, Luna. However, the documents in your office have been awaiting your attention."

I let out a long breath. Without Adam telling me, I already knew. The documents kept coming. Every time I finished one document, two would come. It would be endless.

Light greeted me as my feet made it down the open hallway. Still at a brisk pace for fear of being late, I turned my head as my ears caught the commotion. A frown rising on my forehead, I tried to sharpen my vision to see the people who were not far away.

"Zeph and Alpha Theron? Why are they there?" After sharpening my vision even more, I discovered the presence of someone who had been bothering me a lot lately.
