27. Have His Way

I woke up to the rise and fall and also the sound of his heartbeat.

So steady and peaceful.

My eyes fluttered open as his hand, which had been on my back, patted me. I assumed he was awake but his silent snores said otherwise.

He was lying on his back. My head was resting on his chest which explained why I woke up to the steady sound of his heartbeat. His other hand was resting on the bed while the one on my back held me to his chest.

This was bliss.

Yet this scared me.

Ayden on the other hand was snoring peacefully but I was scared. Scared of what would happen to me when I get used to sleeping with him. He did say that he wanted to spend forever with me but I doubted that I wanted to do that to him.

I would be ruining his life and the life of his destined mate if I accept his proposal. That would be a selfish move that would destroy them and perhaps my destined mate when he finds me.

What was I thinking? I should have fought harder when he let himself into my bed last
