Sophie was wide awake. She lied down on the bed waiting until Alpha Jones would come in. She wanted an explanation of what happened in the throne room. She was bewildered by how he was almost licking Scott's feet.She made a grimace instead of welcoming him with the usual affectionate smile but Alpha Jones didn't even notice her countenance.He moved onto the bed beside her. He kept smiling. His joy was profound. It wasn't fake. He had not only failed to recognize his wife frowning. It was happening. There was nothing no one could say to stop this any longer. Sophie watched with a gloomy face."Come on!" Alpha Jones stood up to welcome Scott into the throne room.
