The interior of the cabin was just like my mom said, a wide space with shelves for walls. There were books everywhere. Everywhere. Some were piled up on the floor since the shelves were fall-filled up. I looked at Ethan, drawing a breath at the heavenly look on his face. Ethan had always had an affinity for books and anything readable. He always amazed me with the way he could read in five different languages but he strained himself to speak just one. Ever since I’d known him, he had spent most of his spare time with his nose stuck in a book.

Now, as he stared around my dad’s cabin with the most awestruck look on his face, I knew he was the most beautiful boy to ever walk this planet. But I’m supposed to be a tough love girl, so I won’t ever tell him that. Instead, I settled on teasing him.

“Hey, Ethan,” I drawled, a silly grin on my face. He looked at me, embarrassed. He started to apologize. I cut him off.
