Irena's POV

I gulped as she kept banging on the door, I gripped Ethan's hand tightly. If she found him in my room, I would be dead.

"Open this door now before I do!" My mom's voice was stern and unforgiving. I looked at Ethan, and he hugged me tightly before kissing me. At that moment, I felt alive, like nothing else mattered. But my moment of bliss was short-lived as my mom's chanting started, and Ethan leaped out of the window.

I rushed to the window and watched as Ethan morphed into his wolf form in mid-air before hitting the ground. It was a rough fall, and I could feel it. Ethan ran away, disappearing into the night.

My mom burst into the room, her eyes flashing with anger. "What are you doing, Irena?" she demanded.

"Nothing, leave me alone," I said, lying on my bed and hugging my pillows that still had Ethan's scent. I hoped my mom wouldn't notice the smell.

"Don't you dare lock the door again," my mom warned before storming out of the room.
