Chapter 10IRENE’S POVI woke up suddenly to the sound of clanging bells and footsteps of people running and loud screaming. What the hell was going on? I walked up hurriedly to the doors but as I was about to swing them open, I stopped. What exactly was going on there? What if there was an actual vampire out there? Was I fortified to fight one off? Oh, fuck it. I’m one of the most powerful witches out there. Vampires had never scared me before. I reached out to open the doors but they wouldn’t budge. Chapter 11 I woke the next morning with a slight headache. I tried to open my eyes but I squinted at the impact of the light rays coming in through the window. I looked to my side and found that Ethan was no longer in bed with me. I stood up and went to search for some aspirin in the bag I brought along with me. I took two tablets with a glass of tap water and sat down on the bed, my head in my hands. I needed to get out of here right now. I quickly took a shower, brushed my teeth and looked for a change of clothes. I didn’t bring any of mine while coming. Ethan had assured me that I didn’t need to worry about any of that stuff. I looked into the walk-in closet and found a couple of plain white T-shirts and dark jeans. I tried putting them on. The jeans fit just fine, but the shirt was a tad bit too big. Chapter 12Derek and I had fun keeping our relationship a secret from my family and the rest of the witch community. He couldn’t come around my house anymore and I was never allowed at his anyway, so all our meet-ups had to be at all of Lafayette’s shady places. We planned dates without agreeing on their venues and because my aunties and other relatives owned shops and businesses around town, we couldn’t even take walks together during the day. We hung out mostly during the night--and I mean late into the night. Chapter 13The interior of the cabin was just like my mom said, a wide space with shelves for walls. There were books everywhere. Everywhere. Some were piled up on the floor since the shelves were fall-filled up. I looked at Ethan, drawing a breath at the heavenly look on his face. Ethan had always had an affinity for books and anything readable. He always amazed me with the way he could read in five different languages but he strained himself to speak just one. Chapter 14I took another look around the cabin, searching for a door that this peculiar key could open. When I found nothing, and none of my efforts proved to be progressive, I went back into the room to finish clearing up. I was able to move most of the books up to the shelves, and I even managed to stack them categorically. The place was looking great already, like a Gothic tree house. Then I started cleaning. I got a brush from a corner of the room where he probably kept his cleaning supplies. I swept out the dirt from under the table and chair and beside the shelves. But as I tried to reach under the bed, something was obstructing the movement of my brush. I tried to reach in again and maybe push the object out of my way, but it wouldn’t budge. CHAPTER 15.Irene's POV. I wore my jacket and looked outside, it was quite dark, the only light was the bright moon that I didn't bother staring at. Chapter 16Irena's POVI gulped as she kept banging on the door, I gripped Ethan's hand tightly. If she found him in my room, I would be dead. "Open this door now before I do!" My mom's voice was stern and unforgiving. I looked at Ethan, and he hugged me tightly before kissing me. At that moment, I felt alive, like nothing else mattered.
