The cold of the night, and the glare of Marcus eyes bit into my skin like a habit. I was really root in this. He had been talking for quite some time, but my fear was so potent that I had not heard a word she said. It was indeed so crazy at this point.

“Maya” Marcus snapped, obviously irate at my disinterest.

“I need to leave,” I said at once as I angled my body away from him.

Something wasn’t right, and I could feel it deep in my soul. If Mike woke up, and didn’t find me right beside him, I had no idea how he would react. He wasn’t a deep sleeper as such, and I had to be very careful about all of these.

“You have to stay. We have a lot to talk about. You can’t keep running away from this if you know what is good for you.”

I shook my head. “It’s even better if I leave this place, and go home where I belong.

“Don’t be stupid, and I don’t have time for this. I need to know about those idiots, and when you will join the wolves.”
