Glancing at Zeeb, I waited to hear his response. She didn't accompany him downstairs, which means he had something to say.

“Miss Jane is sleeping currently. I contemplated waking her up, but knowing how unreasonable the matter she's needed for is, I changed my mind at the last minute.”

Silence enveloped the room immediately Zeeb completed his words. In fact, the temperature seems to have tightened, with his words landing.

Alpha Ryker, Adira and Emily just weren't having it at all; their faces were frosty at this moment.

“She's sleeping! And did we just hear you say, the matter she's needed for isn't reasonable. Like, you mean her sleep is more important than the issue at hand?!” Adira shouted.
