Chapter 33: Coffee

I inched closer to her, taking a seat on the edge of her bed.

Ensuring my movements were as silent as possible, I settled onto the bed, mindful not to disturb her slumber.

"She appears so care free," I murmured, a smile gracing my lips as I reached to gently brush a stray strand of hair from her face.

However, as my fingers made contact with her skin, I was startled by its chill, causing me to withdraw my hand instinctively.

A shiver coursed through me, yet I found myself unable to tear my gaze away from her facial look.

"Why am I behaving like this?" I pondered silently, the answer eluding me.

Could it be merely her beauty? I wished it were so simple, but deep down, I knew it wasn't solely that. After all, I'd been in the company of other attractive women without experiencing such a reaction.

Frustrated with my own thoughts, I lightly tapped my head, attempting to banish them from my mind.
