Ava's POV"Who is it" Aurora asked "You heard the knock too?" "Yeah, it was really loud. So, who is it?" "I have no idea. The voice didn't sound like Logan's own and I can't recognise it either." "Are you going to answer it?" "I don't know, should I?" "Maybe, I don't know." The knock came again and it startled me. This time, it was louder than before. "Ava, I think you should answer it." "Or I should just call for Logan?" "There is no need to call for Logan. He isn't home."I gasped and it was as if my air supply had been cut off. The room was sound proofed so how did she hear me asking if I should just call for Logan?"Ava, I think you should go. Make sure you call me immediately when she leaves. I have to make sure you're still going to be fine." "Okay, no problem. Love you girl." "Love you too. I'll talk to you later." When we finished talking, I got up from my bed and walked towards the door with my arms in front of me."Who are you? What do you want from me and why are
LOGAN'S POV Ava had been off and on with me ever since she came back from the summit and I couldn't place my hands on why it was that way. On some days, she would love on me and leave me no room to breathe and on other days, it would be as if I was her sworn enemy and I wouldn't even want to stay in the same room as her. I wanted us to talk about it but I didn't seem to find a way to bring it up and I didn't want to look like I was insensitive to whatever she was going through and the twist was that I didn't even know what was going on with her. One thing I also noticed was that she was nicer to me in front of the kids and when the kids were gone, she would become a little less nice to me. Apart from all of that, there was something on her mind that was keeping her away from me but no matter how hard I tried for her to open up to me, it always proved abortive and sadly, I didn't know wether it was from her past or if it was with the present but I was plagued by it. "Alphonso, what d
AVA'S POV 'A date huh, I wonder what he had up his sleeve and thinking about it has been a long time since I went out with him. Well, Ava get ready and see what comes next.' After that brief thought, I dropped my phone on the chair and bent to continue helping Nash with his math homework. "So Nash, if you have two apples and Nathan gives you five apples how many apples would you have?" "What does Nathan have to have the higher number of apples? That's not fair.""It's not real Nash, it's just an illustration." "What's an illustration mum?" "An illustration is an example. It's explaining something in a really descriptive and engaging way. Back to the question Nash" "I don't want Nathan to have more apples than I do." At this point, Nathan decided to chip in "But you don't really have any apples. If mum says you have five apples, there's still nothing real to show so just answer the question." "Thanks Nathan but this is Nash's time okay. I appreciate you for trying to make him u
Ava's POVI saw that Nash wasn't ready to cooperate with me so I decided to employ my secret weapon. "If we don't get this done soon, there will be no dessert for you. And you know what for dessert today?" "No I don't." "Well, we're going to have ice-cream. Now, if you don't cooperate with me, you are going to have to watch everyone else take theirs and you won't have any. Would you like that?" "No ma'am." "Good. So what are you going to do?" "If I have two apples and Nathan gives me five more, I'm going to have seven apples.""So who has more apples now?" " I do! And Nathan has none.""So you see, if you add two things together, their sum is usually bigger than one of it alone. Do you understand?" "Yes, I do." "So can I leave you alone to continue?""Yes you can." "Good boy."I stood up and went to check on Natalie and Nathan then I came back, picked up my phone and while I was about to unlock it, the head chef emerged from the kitchen. "Good evening ma'am." "Good evening
Ava's POV I wasn't sure what to expect for our nighttime date as it was the first one we were having in a long time, so I wanted to choose an outfit that was both relaxed and stylish. While I wanted to feel comfortable, I also wanted to look chic for the evening plans. After perusing my closet, I selected a pair of form-fitting black jeans that I knew would hug my curves in all the right places. To top it off, I paired the jeans with an ivory blouse made of a flowy, lightweight material - perfect for catching the evening breeze. However, I knew the night air could turn cool, so I added a touch of edge and warmth with a leather jacket to ward off any chill. Completing the look, I slipped into my favorite worn-in ankle boots that brought just a hint of rugged charm. The boots elevated the ensemble while still maintaining a casual vibe.To finish the outfit, I went with minimal jewelry and applied a swipe of my go-to nude lipstick shade. The understated makeup and accessories struck t
Ava's POV "I am not going to blame any of us for any of these. We're going to work through this together, I promise you." "You've still not told me where we're going." "You see soon. And I promise you'll love it." "You want to know why I won't even complain? Because your surprises are always lit!" "Exactly! And that is a fact." "Logan, where are we?" He turned to me and smiled before he replied "Ava, I know how much you love the night time, the stars and our garden. I see how stressed you are with work and how things have been with us lately and so I decided to do a little something for you tonight." I opened my mouth in utter disbelief and asked him "How long have you had all these planned?" "It all came to me today and I decided to put it all together without wasting any more time." "Logan, you didn't have to." "Oh yes, I had to. I didn't like the way we were. We became like a door with rusty hinges and I wasn't comfortable with that at all. I'm doing all of these
Ava's POV "There are desserts my love, only that these are really special ones.." "What makes them special? Were they imported or something?" "You're thinking too far, baby. As for what makes them special, you'll see. And also because they have special meanings and memories with us." "I won't struggle to find out." "Even if you struggle, it'll be to no result. For now, let's sit and eat because I am starving and I know you are too." He held my hands and led me to the chair to sit. While he was about to take his seat his phone rang. "Sorry, I need to take this, it's Alphonso" "Sure, carry on. Put in on speaker, I want to hear him too." "Alright… Hello Alphonso, how are you? How are things at the hospital?" "I'm good Logan and I'm calling with good news!" "I think we all know what it is…" "We? Are you with Ava?" "Yes I am. Please carry on.' "Alright. Everything went well and I'm pleased to announce that I am now the father to a healthy baby boy!" I gasped and cla
Logan's POV "What serious issues are you talking about?" "That's where we are heading to." "Well then, I'm all ears." From what I was seeing, she didn't seem to be asking herself any questions because she was eating her food clearly unbothered and waiting for me to speak. "I noticed something. At first I thought that it was just a fragment of my imagination and that I was thinking too much but I became more observant and noticed that I wasn't just overanalyzing things and what I was seeing was real." "And what was the thing you noticed?" At this point, she took a sip of water, pushed her food to the side and looked straight into my eyes. "When the kids are around, you act all lovey dovey with me and I like it because we're showing the kids how to love in a way. However, I realized that once the kids are no longer there, everything changes and it becomes like the slightest things I do just annoy the crap out of you." She squinted her eyes, turned her head to one side and th
