CHAPTER 10

Mila maintained her distance from Arthur in the coming days. She yearned for his company, for his presence, but she knew she was better off without him. She could tell Arthur too was missing her, he was often seen looking for her.

She went to every single training session, but observed from a distance, hidden in shadows. He could fight really well, there was no doubt in it, but he lacked focus. Mila saw him practice with bow and arrows, sword, spear, and even a morning star.

Everyday they trained for five-six hours where Arthur practice with every single men in his command, and by the end of it, he always asked, "Has anyone seen Mila Grace?"

"If I didn't know better, I would have thought you were here to steal my mate," a voice chuckled. Mila turned and saw Chloe standing on top of the stairs, stairs that overlooked Mila's hiding position.

Mila had her face covered with a scarf and was wearing gloves and socks to ensure no glint of her skin was visible.
