“Let’s all calm down and think with a cool head,” I said while patting Cassey’s back.

“No, Ricky! Laura is to blame for all of this. You fought hundreds of men in the war but you couldn’t fight one man. One man, Laura! How could you let them take my daughter!?” Cassey barked.

“Don’t talk to her like that, Cassey. Have you forgotten what Laura has done for all of us,” I continued. “You know as much as I do that Laura loves Alice like she’s her own daughter.”

“It’s exactly the love she has for Alice that has put Alice in such a dilemma,” Alice said as she sat on the floor. “She threw this big party and invited vital personnel. Of course the kidnappers couldn’t hold themselves any longer. They had to kidnap the celebrant because obviously if the celebrant's family could invite such important people, it means they’re wealthy. So they kidnapped my dear Alice so they could make money.”
