“Making him your bodyguard doesn’t change the fact that he’s still a servant—”

Ricky punched Rhett across his face and he fell to the floor.

“Why the hell did you do that?” Rhett asked while gently brushing his sore cheek.

“You seemed like a threat so I had to do something about you,” Ricky grinned. “You can’t blame me. I’m now her bodyguard and my job is preventing her from anything or anyone that looks dangerous or may look like danger.”

“You don’t have to explain to him. You’re only doing your job. He’s actually a threat to me. He totally deserved that punch,” I said as I left the scene.

I helped the servants with the decorations and the preparations till I was satisfied before I had retired to my room.

I quickly took a nap before the party because I was tired after working. My short nap turned into a long nap. I woke up when the party had already started and I hadn’t woken up on my own. Ricky rang the doorbell countlessly and that woke me up.

“Laura, are you even in there?”
