Chapter 71

Racheal's POV

Lucien hesitated for a moment, then slowly rolled up his sleeves, revealing his bare arms. Sure enough, there it was the distinct birthmark on his elbow.

A flicker of uncertainty crossed his face, but was quickly replaced by a stubborn defiance. "It's just a coincidence," he spat. "Anyone can have a birthmark. Now, leave before I call the police."

Defeated and heartbroken, my mother took a step back, tears streaming down her face. "I can't believe this," she whispered. "I thought you were my husband, my Reynaldo."

With those words, she turned and walked away, leaving behind a shattered illusion of what she thought her life was.

As I stood outside with my mother, her tears streaming down her face, I couldn't help but feel a knot forming in my stomach. The words that spilled out of her mouth left me reeling with confusion and disbelief.
