16 - The Mating Season

Twilight

I had just run a few feet away from Edge and Kane, intending to run out of the forest when suddenly a loud white noise, a droning sound started to echo in the entire forest. I stumbled on my feet, and fell down. Suddenly the scent of several rogues started to surround me. My head was almost splitting open in pain.

Loud screams of children, and men began to start screaming in pain. The sound was coming from somewhere far away but it was still right next to my ear.

A familiar scent appeared around me. As I lifted my head, my eyes locked with a pair of dark ones. Edge…

A momentary relief rushed through me, but the very next second my eyes dilated in fear. Several pitch black shadows were hovering above me. A deathly, hollow scream echoed in the forest that came from them and somehow even through them. They reached out to me, as if to grab me and drag me to a dark hole.

I was petrified.

“Stop. NO! GET AWAY!” I screamed.

“Twilight!”
