Helena’s P.O.V.

As soon as these words came out of my mouth, Zayden’s eyebrows shot up, forming a high arch of astonishment. Then his face contorted with a mix of disbelief and shock.

“N-No, I can’t believe it!

It’s not true!”

He stumbled over his words, tongue tripping over the rush of thoughts, clamoring for his attention. This method of emotional blackmailing always got him a lot of mileage out of every situation.

So, as Zayden couldn’t accept his defeat quickly, he cast a dirty glare at me before leaving.

My wobbly knees refused to bear my weight anymore. I landed on the floor with a loud thud.

“I’m sorry, mom.”

Tears ran down my eyes, as I closed them, the saltiness of tears were edible to my trembling lips.

What had I done just now?

In order to save my kids’ future, I lied to Zayden’s face and even used my dead mom’s name to verify it.

“I’m such a horrible daughter, mom.”

I curled on the floor in a fetal position and hugged my knees, my anguished sobs pierced through

Good. Big mistake for her lying. Glad they want a DNA test. I get she is hurt. But her hurt has nothing to do with him being a part of their lives. I think people have a hard time distinguishing the fact that if separated, the parent is a package deal. As long as the kids is cool that is what matter
