Electricity failure in a high-end party?

My fate got to be kidding me.

I was the planner of this event and made sure to double-check everything. Then how could I miss a significant detail?

That black-out gave Zayden a perfect chance to scare me, his creepy approach sucked all the air from my lungs. For a moment, my body failed to respond to his advances.

I couldn’t even scream or squirm to register my protest. The time seemed to be still, as Zayden bit my earlobe and warned me.

“Don’t even think about escaping, Helena. If I catch you running again, you’ll witness why people call me a lunatic.”

I breathed in sharply and tried to scurry away from him when suddenly the lights illuminated the party hall again, the sharpness of the lights stung my eyes.

“I apologize for the inconvenience.”

And that is what her stubborn stupidity gets. I hope Zayden doesn't even lift a finger to find her or the kids. after all, they not his. So why should he care. The idiotic things people do.
