Once the doctor cleared me, we went back to the pack house. The only people that were allowed inside other than us was Donovan, Penelope, Cora, and Maggie.

Maggie and Cora were at the kitchen talking like long lost friends. It made me wonder if they actually knew one another.

Penelope looks over at me as we walk inside and she says, “I see the resemblance.”

She surprises me when she spoke, but I can’t help but smile at her words. I nod my head, “I do too. It’s weird. Our hair color is vastly different, but our faces…”

“Are eerily similar.” She completes my sentence, making me laugh as I nod in agreement. Donovan looks over at Maven and then at me and he says, “I may not know you, but I’m sorry for any distress that we have caused. It isn’t our intention. If you are feeling up to it, could we figure everything out now?”

I look back at Maven and say, “I’m feeling up to it as long as it’s okay with you.”

He nods and walks over to me so we can sit beside one another, Donovan and Pe
