Astrid's POV:

Alpha Dominic’s scent of anger filled the room once more. He approached me, bent to my level, and held up my chin. "Getting smart, eh?” he snarled and let go of my face.

I waited patiently for him to say something more. But he simply stared at the wall behind me, with furrowed brows and a slightly down turned mouth, appearing to be in deep concentration.

“If you are not strong enough to accept my wish, then let me go.” I challenged him with courage I didn’t know I had.

"All right,” he said. “I won't have sex with you unless you ask me to.”

Though his voice held mischief, I was shocked that he’d agreed. I had expected more resistance, but he backed away, standing at a safe distance from me after voicing his agreement.

"A wise decision, Dominic,” his father said with an approving nod.
