Chapter Eleven

Emily’s POV

It was dark when I heard the rustling of keys against the door, I quickly sprang up from where I sat on the floor and I watched his towering figure stride into the, wearing an expression of annoyance that could only be a product of my existence.

He stood by the doorway, leaning back to give me space but not stepping further into the room. “Get up” he growled.

My stomach flipped over at his gruff tone , but with the way he was standing and the way his eyes were burning into me, it was easy to think this wasn’t really a request for me, it was an order. So I obeyed.

He threw a bag I didn't notice he was holding at me before turning and striding toward the couch. “Put those on.” His voice boomed through the room. I took a deep breath before moving into the tiny bathroom that could barely pass as a closet.

The sink and mirror were rusty and the porcelain was scratched from years of exposure to water and grime. My reflection looked like shit. A dark bruise spread acros
