Ch 34 - Everything Felt Right

Shaking my head free of thoughts about Azalea and this situation, I left her room and went in search of the one person I really needed to talk to. Apparently she was right across the room from Azalea as I heard sniffling coming from her room. I didn’t hesitate to open the door, closing it behind me before I went up to her and hugged her.

She was sitting on her bed before I cradled her into my arms, letting her cry into them. I’m not an emotional or very responsive person, but Bentley holds a place in my heart that’s reserved only for her. Finally, after what seemed like hours, her sobs died down and we were engulfed by silence. Her heart rate was back to normal and her arms around my waist still held onto me tightly.

“I missed you,” she croaked.

I sighed before kissing her forehead. “I missed you too Lee. You have no idea just how much.”

“Why would the Moon Goddess be so cruel to me?” she sniffed. I knew what she was really asking me.
