Chapter 22 The Unexpected Notice

CLARA POV

The bastard left me in the restaurant to find my way back home after forcing me to go out with him for a talk. Is this another way of him punishing me for not accepting his proposal? Then he should be prepared for the worst because I am still going to turn him down no matter what.

Fear crawled its way to my heart when I thought of his threatening words. He promised that he will meddle his way into my daughter's dream of becoming who she wants to be. No, I can't let him get to my daughter. I thought I had known fear the moment my mother died but meeting someone like Alexander is another version of fear that I have never experienced in my life before.

I came down from the cab and paid the taxi driver as I clutched my bag in my hand tightly while I made my way towards my apartment. I was about to enter my room when I saw a piece of paper placed on the wall.
